Gideon defeated the vast Midianite army using a small force of 300 men, relying on divine strategy rather than sheer numbers, as detailed in Judges 7. God had Gideon drastically reduce his army to ensure the victory was seen as His, not Israel’s. The final attack involved a surprise night assault where Gideon’s men surrounded the enemy camp, blew trumpets, broke jars to reveal torches, and shouted, causing the Midianites to panic and fight amongst themselves, leading to their rout and defeat.
