Asa Coolidge Warren (1819–1904) was an American engraver, illustrator, and painter who was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died in New York City. He apprenticed under engraver George G. Smith, worked for Ticknor & Fields and the New England Bank Note Co., and later illustrated the first edition of Whittier’s Poems. After moving to New York in 1863 to work as a banknote engraver and for other publishers, he ultimately took up landscape painting in his later years, with works like “View of New York from Brooklyn Heights” in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection.
