Albert Auguste Fourié is a French sculptor , painter and illustrator .Albert Fourié was a student of Jean-Paul Laurens and Jean Gautherin at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris . He began his career as a sculptor. After his first exhibition in 1877, he abandoned sculpture to turn to painting. His elegant style as a portraitist of women bathing, his landscapes of parks and gardens earned him several medals at the Paris Salon in 1883 with La Chambre mortuaire de Mme Bovary , in 1884 and 1887 and a gold medal in 1889. He spent part of the year with other painter friends, on the Cauchoise coast in the villa Les Charmilles de Jules Diéterle in Yport which he bought in 1891. He exhibited at the Salon of 1887 A wedding feast in Yport , a large naturalist painting which caused a sensation and which was bought by the State . It illustrates the works of Gustave Flaubert , Victor Hugo , Alphonse Daudet and Guy de Maupassant , and Illustrated Paris (1887-1888).
