Camille Adrien Paris, born on March 22 ,1834 in Paris and died on August 17, 1901à Barbizon, was a French painter. Camille Adrien Paris was the son of François Paris, trader in Paris, and Rosalie Zoé Monteret. He was the pupil of Ary Scheffer and François-Édouard Picot . He began by traveling to Italy where he painted several pictures before moving to Barbizon, Grande Rue. He participated in Salons from 1864 with views of the Roman countryside, then drew inspiration from the surrounding countryside. The administration of Fine Arts bought a few tables for provincial museums before acquiring the big table having obtained medal 3th class at the 1874 Salon medal and 2nd class in 1889. He Salon received a bronze medal at the 1889 World’s Fair. The painting entitled Goat and Sheep or Landscape, exhibited at the Salon of 1865, was purchased on the civil list of Napoleon III for the castle of Fontainebleau. It was returned to Empress Eugenie in 1881, who put it up for sale. Camille Adrien Paris was named Knight of the Legion of Honor on May 7, 1895. The medal was presented to him by Léon Bonnat. Camille Adrien Paris died August 17, 1901 in Barbizon, he was buried in the cemetery of this town. His tomb is decorated with a bronze bas-relief by Laurent Marqueste 3. On 21 August, his remains were transferred to the cemetery of Pere Lachaise.
