Ulysses standing in a beach in profile to the right, holding the reins of two horses which pulls the plough to the right, child Telemachus lying on a tiger’s skin on the right and sleeping, two other figures standing in the left background.
Heywood Hardy was an English painter and etcher of animals, Portraits, genre and sporting subjects. He was born in Chichester. He is the son of artist James Hardy, Snr (1801-1879) and the younger brother of James Hardy Jnr (1832-1889)
