The Flight into Egypt: a night piece; the Virgin seated on a donkey holding the Christ Child, while St Joseph leads the way towards the left while holding a lantern.
Rembrandt van Rijn was a Dutch Baroque painter and printmaker, one of the greatest storytellers in the history of art, possessing an exceptional ability to render people in their various moods and dramatic guises.
