Painter, etcher and draughtsman on wood; son of William (q.v.) taught Kate Greenaway (q.v.). Surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures, 1857-80, elected RA, 1851. Wrote with his brother Samuel Redgrave (qq.v.) an important monograph ‘A Century of British Painters’ (1866).
