Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle was a German painter and draughtsman. He entered the Stuttgart Art School in 1859 under Professor Rustige and went on to study in Munich. Bauerle visited England in 1869. He specialised in portraiture and painted some of the monarchy; these being exhibited in 1878. The museums of Stuttgart and Sydney hold works by the artist. About Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Bauerle (also: Carl Bauerle / Bowerley), little is published. He led an eventful life by his faith, which was Pietism, and was known for his artistic talent, his love for children and also for personal setbacks.
