Urbain Huchet was born on April 4th, 1930 in Rennes, France. In his first 30 years he attended law school and also spent some time in the textile industry. By 1960, a self taught painter, Huchet, moved to Pont Aven and began his art career. Many of his works are influenced by his love of the landscape and people in this region. Huchet moved to Paris in 1963. He was soon overtaken by the urge to travel. His journies took him throughout Central and South America and the Caribbean Islands instilling in him new landscapes and characters in his craft. His exhibitions have been held all over the world in locales including Tokyo, Egypt, Mexico and Brazil. His US exhibitions appeared in New York, Texas, and Florida. However, Paris is the most frequented location as a majority of his pieces are produced in his Paris and Cannes workshops.
