Medium: Antique hand pulled copper plate etching on laid paper after the original by master etcher Leopold Henry Lowenstam. (Dutch, 1842-1898).

German figure and history painter, Carl Schloesser studied in Frankfurt under J. Becker. Since 1857 he continued his studies under Th. Couture in Paris. He lived in that town until 1870 when he went to Rome from where he left for London in 1875.
