Medium: Antique engraving on laid paper after the original by master engraver Guillaume Chasteau (French, 1635 – 1683).
Year: 1660
Dimensions: Image Size 9 3/8 x 14 5/8 inches.
Daniel, seated, and David, standing beside him, both holding stone tablets, an angel standing between them. After the wall painting in the Chigi chapel, Santa Maria della Pace (Rome). Another example of the print can be found in the British Museum.
Raphael, Italian in full Raffaello Sanzio or Raffaello Santi was a master painter and architect of the Italian High Renaissance. Raphael is best known for his Madonnas and for his large figure compositions in the Vatican. His work is admired for its clarity of form and ease of composition and for its visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur.
