Gustave Jean Jacquet was a French painter and illustrator , born on May 25 , 1846 in Paris , and died in the same city on July 12 , 1909 . Gustave Jacquet is a student of William Bouguereau and begins at the Salon of 1865. He is known as a painter of female portrait and genre scene in the style of the eighteenth century . Under the name “Jacquet”, he illustrates some humorous books, especially for Éditions Félix Juven . Gustave Jacquet lived in several Parisian homes: from 1865 to 1866, at No. 3, rue Desbordes-Valmore ; from 1867 to 1874, at 22, rue Saint-Ferdinand ; from 1875 to 1876, at 37, Montaigne Avenue ; from 1877 to 1883, at No. 71 Prony Street ; and from 1884 to his death, at No. 92, avenue de Wagram . On November 29, 1909, the sale of old costumes, weapons and armor, from his estate, took place in Paris. Previously, the contents of his studio and his art collections had been scattered at the Georges Petit gallery in Paris.
