Edmond Charles Joseph Yon said Edmond Yon was an engraver and painter of landscapes, views and rivers. Edmond Yon is the son of Pierre Yon, born in 1805, owner in Montmartre, and living rue Neuve-Pigalle. He was born on March 31, 1841 in Montmartre. He collaborated with Magasin Magasin, Le Monde Illustrated, L’Illustration , etc. He exhibited at Salon etching section ( wood engraving , etching ) and receives a medal 2 e class 1872 then 3 e class in 1874, then painting, where it receives a medal 3 e class 1875 and 2 e class in 1879. It is part of the etching jury from 1875 to 1879. He produced five etchings for the album L’Eau forte en … (1874-1881), published by Alfred Cadart. He produced the illustrations after photographs of Paul Verne’s work , entitled Fortieth Ascension French Mount Blanc (1874) published in the Museum of Families in the series “The Doctor Ox” by Jules Verne . He was appointed Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1886, sponsored by the painter Jules Lefebvre . Edmond Yon died March 25, 1897 in Paris and is buried in the cemetery of Pere Lachaise.
